On April 15th 1989, over 24,000 Liverpool FC supporters travelled to Sheffield for a football match. 96 men, women, and children never came home.
Saturday is a short film about how the Hillsborough stadium disaster unfolded for one family back at home in Liverpool, as seen through the eyes of Liam, whose older brother Mark is at the match.
Directed by filmmaker, Mike Forshaw who was born and raised in Liverpool; and produced by Jessica Levick from Magnified Pictures Ltd; the film stars Harrison Vaughan as Liam, Elizabeth Berrington as Marie, and Neil Fitzmaurice as Carl.
The film was funded through Kickstarter in 2013 thanks to backers worldwide including Executive Producer Wayne Scholes from Really Epic Dog, and is supported by Liverpool Football Club, the Hillsborough Family Support Group, and the Hillsborough Justice Campaign.
